Scientific researchers to be given a 48-day leave

At the XIII plenary session of the Senate, the law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On science and scientific activity” was approved by senators. On October 29, 2019, the head of state signed the law.
The law regulates international cooperation in the field of science and scientific research. In particular, the international cooperation of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the field of science and scientific activity is supported by the fact that the national scientific schools have stable position in global rankings.
Currently, Uzbekistan is using advanced scientific and technological achievements in enhancing the competitiveness of the national economy, and attracting specialists of leading foreign scientific and technological centers to boost its development.
In addition, the law focuses on the rights of individuals engaged in scientific research activities. For example, researchers from the state scientific organizations are provided with a 48-day paid annual leave and financial support.
