Labor Ministry: 30 private employment agencies could not provide jobs for citizens of Uzbekistan abroad

In the republic, 30 private employment agencies could not find a job abroad for Uzbek citizens. This became known during a meeting of the committee of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis on labor and social issues.

Based on the law “On private employment agencies”, 88 legal entities were registered at the Labor Ministry as a private employment agency. Of these, 65 were issued licenses for organizing employment of citizens abroad. Currently, 59 of them are effectively carrying out their activities.

The Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations is compiling a register of legal entities in a short 1-day period, and issuing a license in 3-5 days. Over the past period of the current year, 1,655 citizens were employed abroad by private employment agencies, 77 citizens were employed in the republic, and 33,838 citizens were provided with advisory and information services.

Deputies criticized the fact that out of 65 private employment agencies licensed to employ people who are looking for work outside the Republic of Uzbekistan, 30 of them so far have not sent a single citizen to work abroad.
