Uzbekistan’s representative begins his activities as deputy chairman of the 74th UN General Assembly session

On September 28, at the United Nations headquarters in New York, the Permanent Representative of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Ibragimov chaired the plenary meeting of the 74th UN General Assembly session, the MFA press service reports.
On June 4, during the meeting of the 73rd UN General Assembly, Uzbekistan was first elected deputy chairman of the session and it will continue its activities in this role until its closure in September 2020.
“Election of Uzbekistan as the deputy chairman of the 74th UN General Assembly session is a testament to the international recognition of Uzbekistan’s efforts. Also, adoption of historical resolutions on Central Asia, education and religious tolerance by the General Assembly, creation of the Multi-Partner Trust Fund for the Aral Sea region under the auspices of the UN are considered the country’s significant achievements,” the press service noted.
