Uzbekistan Football Association (UFA) terminated the contract with Héctor Cúper, the head coach of the national football team of Uzbekistan, the press service of the UFA reported.
“Uzbekistan Football Association and the national team head coach Héctor Cúper terminated the contract by mutual agreement,” the statement reads.
According to Kun.uz source, the decision was made by the leadership of the Uzbekistan Football Association (UFA) after the national team was defeated by Palestine (0:2) in the first match of the 2022 World Cup second round Asian qualifiers.
The contract with Cúper was concluded on August 1, 2018 for three years (until November 30, 2021).
In total, Héctor Cúper led the national team of Uzbekistan in 17 matches 7 of which ended in victory. The team suffered the same number of defeats and played out draw in 3 matches.
