Uzbekistan, EU to hold 3rd round of partnership agreement talks

In late September, Tashkent will host the 3rd round of negotiations on a draft Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement (EPCA) between Uzbekistan and the European Union, the MFA press service said.
On September 16, the head of the Uzbekistan’s diplomatic mission to the EU Dilyor Khakimov held talks with Deputy Managing Director of the European External Action Service Luke Devin.
At the meeting, preparations for the upcoming 3rd round of negotiations on EPCA, which is scheduled to be held on September 3-27 in Tashkent, as well as the 14th meeting of the Uzbekistan-EU subcommittee on economy, trade and investment were reviewed.
It is expected that at the meeting of the Uzbekistan-EU subcommittee on economy, trade and investment, prospects for the development of economic cooperation, trends in bilateral trade and investment relations, issues of Uzbekistan’s accession to the WTO and the GSP+ system will be considered.
