New terminal construction at Samarkand International Airport started

During his visit to the Samarkand region, the President instructed the local government to reconstruct the international airport in accordance with modern requirements, develop new services and work out new projects to increase the flow of tourists.
As the Telegram channel of the regional khokim Erkinjon Turdimov reports, within the framework of implementing the tasks set, the projects, which were planned with participation of the industry officials, were studied at Samarkand International Airport.
According to the plan, a new terminal will be built at Samarkand International Airport in 2019-2020, the runway will be reconstructed, the airplane fleet will be expanded and radar systems will be upgraded. Also, a new coating will be laid.
Upon completion of these projects, the airport will be able to serve up to 600 foreign and local visitors an hour. Once the airport is modernized, more than 20 flights will be carried out a day.
