Tuition fee for part-time and evening education reduced

On September 15, a press conference with participation of the leadership of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education was held at the Agency for Information and Mass Communications.
During the event, information on the established tuition fee amount for studying at higher education institutions during the academic year 2019-2020 was presented.
It was reported that tuition fee for part-time and evening education has been reduced by 35-40% in the current academic year. That is to say, if it was 9 million soums last year, it is set at 6 million 300 thousand soums this year.
Also, officials answered the question why the amount of tuition fee has gone up by 18%.
“This is just the net price for providing services to train students in the higher education system. There is no profit markup on this. It is impossible to reduce the tuition fee amount. Utility payments and teacher salaries depend on this,” Kun.uz correspondent quoted Abduvali Kholikov, head of the main department at the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education, as saying.
Starting from the academic year 2019/2020, tuition fees at higher education institutions of the Republic increased by 18%.
Moreover, it became possible to pay the tuition fee on a monthly basis.
