NPP construction in Uzbekistan can be canceled only by the President

Cancellation of the decision on the construction of a nuclear power plant or storage facility is carried out by the President of Uzbekistan at the proposal of the Cabinet of Ministers, the Law “On the use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes” says.
The state safety regulatory bodies, the authorized government body and local government bodies shall submit to the Cabinet of Ministers a proposal to cancel the decision to construct a nuclear installation and (or) a storage center with justification of additional factors based on an expert review.
Losses associated with the termination or suspension of the construction of a nuclear installation and (or) storage facility are subject to judicial compensation at the expense of legal entities.
