From January to June, Uzbekistan exported gold for $2 billion, follows from the data of the State Statistics Committee. This happened against the background of reducing the gap between imports and exports from $2.9 billion to $2.8 billion.
The country began the year with an active sale of gold - in January-March Uzbekistan exported yellow metal for $1.2 billion, after which sales stopped and resumed only in June, with the export batch amounting for $863 million.
As a result, in the first half of the year, the volume of gold exports exceeded the indicator of 2018 by 34% (then it was $1.5 billion). In previous years, this figure was equal to $1.1 billion (2017), $738 million (2016) and $823 million (2015).
It should be noted that the price of gold has changed greatly over the time.
