On July 2, 2019, Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan Nobuaki Ito, who is completing his diplomatic mission in our country, the press service of the MFA said.
During the conversation, the sides discussed topical issues of bilateral relations.
It was noted that Uzbekistan and Japan have achieved a high level of trust and mutual understanding, the necessary mechanisms for bilateral cooperation have been created and the parties are successfully collaborating in the international arena.
Over the three years of the Ambassador’s work in Uzbekistan, contacts with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has been significantly intensified, in which socially important projects in the fields of energy, transport, telecommunications, healthcare and education are implemented in our country.
At present, the parties are preparing for the 15th meeting of the economic cooperation committees (Tokyo, July 10) and the 3rd conference of rectors of universities (Tashkent, July 8-9).
These and other joint activities, as emphasized, should be important stages in preparing for the upcoming visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Japan.
At the end of the conversation, the Minister expressed his appreciation to the Ambassador for his significant contribution to the development of multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan.
Nobuaki Ito, in turn, thanked for the assistance and support in his work as the Ambassador of Japan to Uzbekistan.
