Uzbekistan joins international agreement on intellectual property

On April 25, 2019, the Convention for the Protection of Producers of Phonograms Against Unauthorized Duplication of Their Phonograms came into effect in the Republic of Uzbekistan. This is reported by the MFA.
Uzbekistan joined the Convention in accordance with the Law “On accession of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Convention for the Protection of Producers of Phonograms Against Unauthorized Duplication of Their Phonograms” (Geneva, October 29, 1971), which was signed on December 26, 2018.
Currently, 80 states are members of the Convention.
The document guarantees that Uzbekistan ensures the strict and unconditional execution of international requirements on copyright and related rights. It is also aimed at protecting the rights of literary and artistic authors, performers and reproduction of their phonograms.
