State Tax Inspectorate employees to undergo skill assessment exams in May-June 2019

The last time tax authorities of Uzbekistan had had skill assessment exams was in 2016. The current exam, scheduled for May-June of this year, will be even tougher – requirements for both existing personnel and new ones have been tightened several times, the press service of the State Tax Committee reported.
The main goal of such exams is to “bring new blood” to the composition of tax authorities, improve work for quality implementation of the new tax concept introduced this year, as well as efficiently organize activities, increase official and labor activity, responsibility of employees at all levels for their work.
Exams will cover all employees in this area in accordance with the established regulations.
During the inspection, employees of the central office, city administrations and other subdivisions will be checked by the STC attestation commission. The remaining units will be examined by territorial authorities.
At the end of exams, a decision on promoting or demoting employees, dismissing them or giving them a chance should be made. The exams will also help identify corrupt elements.
Young, active, capable personnel who have not previously worked in tax service bodies may replace employees who have not passed the exam.
