New Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan appointed

Darkhan Satybaldy was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Uzbekistan, Kazinform reports with reference to Akorda.

He was born on March 26, 1974, graduated from Akmola Agricultural Institute named after S.Seifullin and  Kazakh Humanitarian Law University.

Prior to his appointment, Darkhan Satybaldy worked as akim of the city of Shymkent, also the first deputy akim of the South Kazakhstan region.

The former ambassador of Kazakhstan, Erik Utembayev, is suspended from office due to a corruption scandal. The diplomat is suspected that, holding a responsible state position, he signed deliberately fictitious acts of work performed on the construction of the administrative building of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Uzbekistan. The damage from his illegal actions exceeded 140 million tenge.
