On March 6, a meeting of the Ambassador of Uzbekistan Akmaljon Kuchkarov with the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan Orazmyrat Gurbannazarov was held in Ashgabat, the press service of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry reported.
During the meeting, issues of further enhancing Uzbekistan – Turkmenistan cooperation in trade-economic sphere were considered.
As the sides noted, warm and confidential dialogue established between the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow opens up new opportunities for strengthening bilateral cooperation in various fields.
The creation of a new cooperation platform – Uzbekistan – Turkmenistan Business Council, the agreement on which was signed following the summit on April 23, 2018, serves as a clear evidence for improvement of relations.
The activities within the framework of the newly established Council will further strengthen fruitful cooperation between the business communities of the two countries, create new opportunities to organize joint conferences and exhibitions, as well as boost mutual trade.
Following the talks, the sides agreed on the agenda and other substantive aspects of the Business Council’s first meeting and reached agreement on the earliest possible timing and venue of the event.
