Today, February 13, the National Olympic Committee (NOC) hosted an extraordinary reporting and election conference of the Uzbekistan Hockey Federation.
During the event, Iskandar Shodiyev, manager of the Binokor hockey club, was elected First Deputy Chairman of the Hockey Federation.
“Iskandar Shodiev’s candidacy was unanimously supported by the meeting participants,” the NOC said.
Newly elected Deputy Chairman noted that hockey is developing slowly in Uzbekistan and shared his plans to improve the sport in the country.
“Thank you for your trust. I should note that hockey is developing very slowly in Uzbekistan. The national championship has only started and the construction of the ice arena is yet to be completed. The goal is to develop hockey throughout the country. We will work together and succeed. The time will come, and our team will end up in the KHL,” he said.
