According to Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Kyrgyzstan Komil Rashidov, Tashkent will host the second consultative meeting of the leaders of Central Asian states in the spring of 2019.

“The primary objective of the meeting is to raise the relationship between the countries of Central Asia to a qualitatively new level,” he said.

Prior to the consultative meeting, an international conference titled “Interconnectedness in Central Asia: Challenges and New Opportunities” will be organized. It will be attended by leading experts from all over the region, including from Kyrgyzstan.

Komil Rashidov also noted that in February 2019, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan plan to launch a new Silk Visa.

“There is a firm intention of the Kyrgyz side to join the Central Asian analogue of the EU Schengen visa. We are confident that such a measure will help increase the flow of foreign tourists to our region,” Rashidov stated.

Besides, according to Uzbek ambassador, an intergovernmental commission on bilateral cooperation at the level of prime ministers will also be held this year in Tashkent.

“The sides have started the implementation of the Road Map, signed by the Prime Ministers of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan on December 18, 2018,” Rashidov concluded.
