Former First Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for assistance to privatized enterprises and development of competition Najmiddin Sharipov has been appointed head of the newly established Antimonopoly Committee, Kun.uz correspondent reports.
The new committee has been established in accordance with the decree of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev “On organization of the Antimonopoly Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan”. It is the legal successor of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for assistance to privatized enterprises and developing competition on organizing antimonopoly regulation, development of competition environment, controlling over activities of natural monopoly entities and licensing commodity and raw materials exchanges.
Leadership of the new committee is entrusted to work out a strategy for developing competition in the commodity and financial markets in 2019-2023 and submit it to the Cabinet of Ministers for approval.
For information, Najmiddin Sharipov, born in 1983, graduated from the Tashkent Financial Institute in 2005. He worked in various positions at the State Committee for Demonopolization and Development of Competition until 2016. Mr. Sharipov also served at the Cabinet of Ministers in 2016-2018. Since May 10, 2018, he has been working as the First Deputy Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for supporting privatized enterprises and development of competition.
