Graduates of the new military institute will be granted military rank “lieutenant”

During the academic year 2018/19 and 2019/20, the fifth and fourth year students will be trained by the current training programs of the new Military Institute of Information-Communication Technologies and Communications of the Ministry of Defense of Uzbekistan, the ministerial press service reported.

The third, second and first year students enrolled at the Special Faculty of the Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi will be trained on “Telecommunication technologies” under the TUIT and from the academic years 2019/20 and 2020/21, their training will be transferred to the Military Institute.

Starting from the academic year 2022/23, selection of candidates for training at the Military Institute will be carried out on a competitive basis among students who have completed the third year of higher engineering-technical educational institutions of the republic and have shown the best results during trainings. Students, who express desire to continue their studies at the Military Institute, will carry out military service under the contract. In addition, those students should be fit and healthy for military service.

The decree states that training at this military institute is equal to military service that is carried out in the manner prescribed by the Regulations on the procedure for military service by citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Graduates of the military institute will be granted the military rank “lieutenant” and be given a state diploma.
