In Uzbekistan, it is planned to introduce administrative responsibility for selling drugs without a prescription, Kun.uz correspondent reports referring to a draft law prepared by the Agency for developing the pharmaceutical industry.

The document proposes amendments and additions to the Article 178 (Violation of competition law, legislation on natural monopolies and legislation on consumer protection) of the Administrative Responsibility Code.

Giving drugs to a patient without a prescription and leaving the pharmacies without prescription of drugs will be punished with a fine for citizens from one to three, and for officials - from five to ten times the minimum monthly wage.

It should be recalled that in November last year, an updated list of medicines, which do not require prescription, was approved in the country. The list is updated annually by the Ministry of Health. At the moment, there are 188 mono-remedies and 1085 complex products in it.

All drugs that are not in this list should be dispensed by pharmacies only in accordance with a prescription. Nevertheless, many pharmacies sin are selling drugs without a prescription.

It is worth remembering that in early November, an administrative and criminal liability for the sale of any drugs outside pharmacies and their branches was introduced in the country.
