The Uzbek government wants to secure the right to refuse to serve customers in settling, if there are “reasonable suspicions of committing immoral acts”, follows from the draft approval of model rules for providing hotel services. The proposal on the matter has been developed and submitted for discussion. 
 
The project says that hotels have the right to refuse to customers in the settlement, as well as notify the internal affairs bodies if there are reasonable suspicions of committing immoral acts that are contrary to public relations and create immoral climate in society. 
 
This also applies to the cases where protection of the family and minors, the life, health, honor and dignity of citizens is ensured. What exactly falls under all these definitions is not specified in the draft. 
 
The document can be offered suggestions and comments by February 7. 
 
In early January, the president signed a decree “On measures to accelerate the development of tourism industry”. It emphasizes that hotel services in Uzbekistan should be provided “regardless of place of residence (propiska), citizenship, kinship and marriage relations of individuals and restricting privacy rights as well”.
