On January 16, 2019, the official ceremony of presenting the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jahongir Ganiyev to the King of Spain Felipe VI took place in Madrid.

In the course of the conversation held after the solemn ceremony, topical issues of Uzbek-Spanish relations were discussed.

The King of Spain praised the level of mutual trust, the similarity and proximity of positions on key issues on the bilateral and international agenda.

Felipe VI noted his meeting in Astana with the President of Uzbekistan in the framework of the international exhibition EXPO 2017, during which further ways of expanding and deepening multi-dimensional cooperation between our countries were identified.

The King of Spain expressed his respect for President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and conveyed his best wishes to him.
