Harvard graduate becomes Deputy Finance Minister of Uzbekistan

In accordance with the presidential decree dated January 7, 2019, Golib Kholjigitov has been appointed Director of the Agency for Development of Public-Private Partnerships under the Ministry of Finance. By taking the post he becomes Deputy Minister of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Golib Kholjigitov, born in 1979, graduated from the University of North Arizona (USA) in 2001, Tashkent State University of Economics in 2004, and Harvard University (USA) in 2012.

He began his career at the Ministry of Finance in 2001. From 2004 to 2011 he held different positions, such as the head of the expert group for the improvement of the anti-monopoly policy, Acting Director and Director of the Center at the State Committee on privatization, demonopolization and development of competition. From 2016 to 2018 he worked at UBS Global Wealth Management division of UBS Group AG (USA).

Prior to his current appointment, Mr. Kholjigitov worked as manager for financial technology projects at the Bank of America Merrill Lynch (USA).
