AFOR Association (France Ouzbekistan Raicines) representatives, which promote tourism, cultural heritage and crafts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in France, visited the Republic of Karakalpakstan, UzA said.
They organized a number of events dedicated to tourism potential of Uzbekistan in the cities of Leon, Clermont-Ferrand and Paris. Since 2017, they are actively working on sending tourists to Uzbekistan.
The main direction is rural tourism. According to their project, a tourist lives in the countryside, gets acquainted with life and customs of the local population, together with a farmer can work on a farm.
On December 25, the guests visited “Oybek Urazimbetov” farm in Beruni district. Arriving in Nukus, the guests visited the Museum named after I.V. Savitsky. Meetings of the delegation were held with representatives of the Territorial Department of the State Committee for Tourism Development, the deputy khokim of Nukus city, the Ministry of Agriculture and the Farmers Council of the Republic of Karakalpakstan.The guests also visited Kanlykul district, the Alimsys farm in Bustan RCG, engaged in horse breeding, “Ikram Ilkham” in Jana Kala RCG, engaged in cotton growing and camel breeding. They tried shubat (camel milk) and got acquainted with its healing properties.
As reported by the Press Service of the State Committee for Tourism Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the guests also visited the Ecological Museum in Muynak city and the “Ship graveyard”, as well as the Lower Amudarya Biosphere Reserve and got acquainted with the flora and fauna of the reserve.
