Recently, on the French TV channel “France 2”, as part of the talk-show “Telematin Partir”, a television program “Uzbekistan - trip to three cities” was broadcasted. It was devoted to the history, cultural heritage, attractions and tourist opportunities of the country.
Information Agency “Jakhon” reported that the TV program was filmed by a famous French TV broadcaster Tanya Young. In the introductory part of the program, it is noted that French citizens no longer need an entry visa to travel to Uzbekistan.
“What can be seen here? Of course, a miracle! Because this region has a thousand years of history. Uzbekistan is the most ancient state in Central Asia. It is located at the crossroads of the Great Silk Road with its legendary cities of Samarkand and Bukhara, which have magnificent historical architectural ensembles,” the author narrates.
She begins her journey from Tashkent – a city with 2,200 years of history, which occupies an important role in the modern world.
According to the reporter, “Mustakillik” Square, the Tashkent subway, modern and ancient architecture – all these give the city a unique charm of the modern oriental metropolis.
The film also describes in detail the holy city of Bukhara, where more than 140 architectural facilities are included on the UNESCO’s World Heritage List. “Ark Citadel, Ensemble Poyi Kalyan, Mirarab Madrasah are considered the most beautiful and ancient architectural masterpieces,” the reportage says.
The author says that Samarkand reached its highest peak of fame during the reign of Amir Temur and Temurids. One of the most famous monuments of that era, which is still greatly admired, is the mosque “Bibi Khanym” – the largest memorial in Central Asia.
In addition, Tania Young describes the uniqueness and beauty of the Registan complex, compares it with the Indian “Taj-Makhal”. “Samarkand is also the birthplace of Amir Temur’s grandson – Ulugbek, a ruler and great scientist,” she adds.
