A Canadian delegation, which will consist of companies in the oil and gas industry of the province of Alberta, will visit Uzbekistan in May next year.

This was announced at the round table organized in Toronto by the “Canada Eurasia Russia Business Association” (CERBA) and the Embassy of Uzbekistan.

“The Canadian delegation will also take part in the work of the international conference and exhibition “Oil and Gas Uzbekistan-2019” in Tashkent and hold a series of talks in relevant ministries and departments,” the press service of the Foreign Ministry said.

In addition, during the event, Ambassador of Uzbekistan Javlon Vakhabov and CERBA Chairman Gilles Breton signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Embassy of Uzbekistan and CERBA.

The document is aimed at deepening cooperation in the field of increasing trade and investment between the two countries. It envisages the exchange of information on promising areas of economic cooperation and changes in the laws of Uzbekistan and Canada in the field of supporting foreign business.

Another event in the field of development of economic cooperation with Canada was the presentation of the investment potential of Uzbekistan, held in Montreal with the participation of representatives of leading Canadian industrial and financial structures.

Participants of the event noted that the reforms implemented in the country in the sphere of liberalization of the economy and the creation of favorable conditions for foreign investors open up new opportunities for the development of Uzbek-Canadian relations in the field of trade and investment. Agriculture, mining, IT, engineering, services, and others are identified as promising areas for interaction.

As part of the event, an agreement was reached on organizing the participation of the Uzbek delegation in March 2019 in the world’s largest exhibition of the mining industry PDAC, which is held annually in Toronto at the congress of the Association of Explorers and Miners of Canada.
