Uzbek-Kyrgyz trade turnover increased by 50% over the past 10 months

Over the 10 months of this year, the trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan has grown by 50%. 
  
It was announced following a working visit of the Kyrgyz delegation headed by Minister of Economy Oleg Pankratov to Uzbekistan. 
  
The main purpose of the visit was to discuss the implementation of the treaties and intergovernmental agreements reached between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan in the framework of presidential meetings of the two countries in 2017. Also, issues of promoting business contacts, identifying prospects for cooperation in trade, transport and industry were considered. 
 
“During the summit meeting, two heads of states instructed to increase bilateral trade up to $ 500 million in the near future. The parties expressed firm confidence that the task would be completed at the scheduled time. This year there is an active growth in bilateral trade. In January-October 2018, the trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan reached $ 325 million. It is a 50% increase over the same period last year,” the Uzbek Ministry of Foreign Trade noted.
