In Uzbekistan, in the coming years, it is planned to review the admission system of universities and facilitate the nostrification of diplomas of foreign educational institutions.

This was discussed during a press conference in Tashkent, dedicated to the Uzbek-Russian educational forum, where it is planned to sign about 130 agreements between the two sides.

"The opening of branches of foreign universities is the development of the market of educational services. However, price must correspond with quality. It will be a joint work. The development of the economy of Uzbekistan and Russia is different, and there are areas in which our country occupies a leading position, not only in the CIS countries, but also in the world. Mining and agriculture is well-developed in Uzbekistan, so there are sectors where we can also share our experience", Odil Abdurakhmanov, First Deputy Minister of Higher and Secondary Special Education, said.

During the forum, participants will discuss new approaches in the republic’s education system.

“We are currently developing a new admission system for applicants. It is necessary to thoroughly examine the creation of such conditions so that exams, such as IELTS, take place during the year. Some opportunities should be created for applicants to apply for several universities at once. We have an active potential that is still unused", the Adviser to the President of Uzbekistan and the rector of UWED, Abdujabbor Abduvokhidov noted.

It is also expected to review the issue of nostrification of foreign university diplomas, in particular Russian ones.

"We just discussed the problem of nostrification of foreign university diplomas and came to the conclusion that we will create a special working group. There must be representatives of the education sector and jurisprudence. They will analyze, study the issue and offer a solution. The forum will focus on this problem particularly," said Abdujabbor Abduvokhidov.
