In January-September 2018, the foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan was recorded as $23 billion. It has increased by 17.2% in comparison to the same period last year.
According to the State Statistics Committee, the volume of exports was $9,3 billion (declined by 0.4%) and imports $13,6 billion (increased by 33.3%).
In January-September 2018, the share of CIS countries in foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan increased by 4.9% compared to the same period of the previous year and reached to 38.6%.
The contribution of other foreign countries in the republic's foreign trade turnover was 66,3% in January-September 2017 and this figure decreased to 61,4% in 2018.
The share of goods in the structure of exports amounted to 75,9%. Mainly energy and oil products (20,2%), foodstuffs (8,8%), and chemical products were exported.
The volume of exports of services amounted to $2.2 billion, which is 21,9% more than the amount in September, 2017. The major share of exports of services are transportation services, tourism services, telecommunications, information and financial services.
Most of the goods and services exported from Uzbekistan are falling under the share of the People's Republic of China and the Russian Federation (37,1% of total exports).
Mainly, China and Russia are in need of energy sources, petroleum products, chemicals and food products.
