Executive Committee of the Political Council of UzLiDeP and Council of farmers of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the field camp of multidisciplinary farming entity “Azam-Azamat Agro” in Samarkand region organized a seminar on the theme “Farmers of Uzbekistan - with international recognition”.
The event was aimed at explaining priorities identified in the decree of the President of our country “On measures on improving system of procurement and use of fruits, vegetables, potatoes and melons” on 12 April 2016 to entrepreneurs and farmers.
The participants got acquainted with the activities of this farm on the harvesting of fruits and vegetables and storage their products in freezers, as well as the export of products which have allowed to farm get more than 1.5 billion soums of net profit in 2015.
Rustam Kobilov, member of UzLiDeP faction in the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis:
— Modern realities require creating more favorable conditions for farmers and raising their activity to a new level. New decree aims to encourage producers of fruits and vegetables. Namely, the processing enterprises are exempt from customs duties for the import of advanced equipment and technology, as well as from a number of taxes and obligatory payments. It should be noted that farmers cultivated fresh and processed products which fill the domestic market and also gaining a strong position in the international market.
In 2015 in Samarkand region it was harvested over 1 mln. 122 thousand tons of vegetables and potatoes, 103. 714 thousand tons of melons, 556. 837 thousand tons of grapes, 375. 46 thousand tons of fruit as well as gardens and vineyards on 678 hectares will be created this year, which will create 572 new jobs.
Abdurafik Khamidov, head of the farm "Khamidov Hakim Sakhovat" of Samarkand region:
- Today farmers’ movement has taken an important place the country’s economy. After the adoption of this decree, we have concluded with Russian companies export contracts for US$10 million and we are going to expand your business.
In general, the implementation of this decree will enable to significantly consolidate the country’s export potential, will contribute to the development of farmers’ movement, help attract foreign innovative technologies and will increase the prosperity of the population.
