Tashkent hosted a meeting of representatives of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for privatization, demonopolization and development of competition with trade advisors of embassies of the member countries of the European Union and representatives of the EU delegation in Uzbekistan.
The focus of the meeting was at the discussion of prospects of participation of European companies in the Program for state property privatization for 2015-2016 of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the cooperation in this direction with the embassies of member countries of the European Union.
During the meeting guests were familiarized with the main directions of activities of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for privatization, demonopolization and development of competition, with the stages of the process of privatization of state property since independence of the country, as well as the principles and objectives of the current phase of the privatization process in the Republic.
The participants in the course of a presentation were provided with an information about state facilities and assets to be sold to strategic foreign investors in accordance with the resolutions of the head of our state "On measures to increase the share and value of private property in the economy", "On measures for implementation of agreements reached during the International investment forum in Tashkent" and "On additional measures on attraction of foreign investors in joint-stock companies".
The meeting presented detailed information about the favorable investment environment available in Uzbekistan, benefits and preferences provided to foreign investors, as well as packages of shares offered for sale. The participants also discussed other important issues, including the introduction of modern methods of corporate governance in joint-stock companies, attracting leading specialists and qualified foreign managers in JSC.
The guests expressed their readiness to cooperate actively with the Committee in the issues of attracting investments from European countries in privatized objects of our Republic.
