Uzbekistan more and more attracts tourists’ attention, who are attracted by the Uzbek people’s rich historical and cultural heritage, a modern infrastructure created in country, a variety of touristic routes and quality of services.
XX International Tourist Exhibition Borsa Mediterranean Del Turismo (“Mediterranean tourist exchange”), recently held in the Italian city of Naples, was an opportunity to demonstrate our republic’s tourism potential.
Our reference: XX International Tourist Exhibition Borsa Mediterranea Del Turismo, is the largest in the Mediterranean region. Around 450 companies and organizations of Italy and other foreign countries presented their services this year. more than 20 thousand people, including a professional tour operators and the international media representatives visited it during the three days of the exhibition.
The presentation of our country’s tourist potential in the framework of the fair was organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Italy in cooperation with local travel agencies.
The participants were provided with detailed information about the development of the tourism industry, historical cities and monuments of architecture in Uzbekistan. They were able to get acquainted with the tourist routes, opportunities in the sphere, as well as our people’s culture and traditions.
Promotional materials, brochures and publications, revealing the potential of our country in the field were distributed during the event. It was noted that the favorable economic conditions and political stability, along with rich cultural traditions contribute to the dynamic development of the country’s tourism industry.
Stanislao Mattia di Marzanih, founder and CEO of Paesaggio Culturale Italiano, the author of numerous articles about Uzbekistan shared his impressions of the recent visit to our country in an interview with Jahon Information Agency.
- Exhibitions taking place in Italy contribute to the mutual exchange of experience between the sphere’s professionals, as well as the promotion of tourist services in Uzbekistan on the international market, get acquainted with the news of the world market, strengthen cooperation with foreign tour operators and sign lucrative contracts, - he said. - A trip to Uzbekistan as a journalist was the epitome of my old dream for me. The hospitality, with which we were met, particularly admired - the smiles on the faces of people who are very open and kind to foreign visitors. It is an important aspect for the Italians, who are also very open and sociable people. Your country is so amazing that I want to visit it again and again.
Another detail that you see during the travel through the republic is how important was the Uzbek region for the Great Silk Road. Indeed, Uzbekistan was and remains the jewel of the Orient.
Recently, we have discovered that many Italian students studying at the departments of Italian literature in various universities of our country have a dream to visit your country. The study showed that their inspiration is the Italian romantic poet Giacomo Leopardi, who visited the Uzbek land in the middle of the XIX century and after wrote one of his most beautiful poems. We are planning our travel agent to work out this tourist direction in the future.
In order to attract more and more tourists, we are also planning to prepare a detailed material about Surkhandarya region, the 2500-year-old Termez, which is a rich historical and architectural heritage of Uzbekistan.
