Uzbekistan plans to launch bromine production in Turkmenistan

Speakers at the event highlighted that holding national product exhibitions in both countries would significantly boost trade volumes between them.

At the "Made in Uzbekistan" exhibition, products from Uzbekistan’s automotive industry, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, oil and gas, textiles, silk, leather and footwear industries, agriculture, food products, construction, and tourism sectors were showcased.

Turkmen officials and business representatives expressed significant interest in the modern, high-quality national products displayed, commending the advanced experience and achievements of Uzbek manufacturers.

A roundtable discussion on expanding trade, economic, and investment cooperation was held at the Turkmenabad city administration, with participation from delegations of both countries.

The discussion focused on establishing industrial cooperation in the textile sector, the reconstruction of the "Mariyazot" chemical plant, implementing a joint project for bromine production in Turkmenistan, launching the "Shovot-Dashoguz" border trade zone in the near future, and other important issues.

The second Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan interregional forum was attended by more than 300 officials and business representatives from both countries.

Speakers emphasized the importance of enhancing bilateral trade and economic cooperation, particularly in industrial sectors like chemicals, oil, and gas, and pushing forward projects in transport, transit, and logistics.

During the forum, numerous working meetings and negotiations took place between official and business delegations from Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.

By the end of the two-day event, new trade agreements worth a total of $160 million were signed.
