During the meeting, the delegation of Uzbekistan highlighted the country’s efforts to facilitate safe and legal labor migration for its citizens. The discussion centered on creating pathways for Uzbek workers to secure lawful employment in Malaysia under fair and regulated conditions.
Jinder Kaur Sidhu provided insights into her company’s recruitment activities, which currently involve hiring over 700 workers from countries such as Vietnam, Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, the Philippines, China, and India.
Ms. Sidhu expressed her company’s willingness, in collaboration with an American partner, to employ five Uzbek nationals. These roles, based in Kuala Lumpur, involve providing Uzbek and English language interpretation services over the phone for Uzbek clients in the United States. Candidates for these positions are required to demonstrate a strong command of English.
The two sides agreed to continue working together to facilitate employment opportunities for Uzbek citizens in Malaysia. Discussions also emphasized ensuring timely issuance of work permits and establishing proper working conditions for employees.
