Tashkent city, the capital, has the highest population density by a considerable margin, with 6,909.6 people per square kilometer. The densely populated regions of Andijan and Fergana follow, recording population densities of 801.3 and 610 people per square kilometer, respectively. Namangan region also exhibits a significant density, reaching 418.7 people per square kilometer.
On the other hand, several regions report comparatively lower population densities. For instance, the Republic of Karakalpakstan and Navoi region have densities of 12.1 and 9.8 people per square kilometer, respectively, reflecting the wide variance in population distribution across the country. The relatively low density in these areas is largely due to their expansive geographic size and arid landscapes.
Among other regions, the population density in Khorezm stands at 334, while Samarkand and Tashkent regions report densities of 254.9 and 204.4, respectively. Syrdarya region, located in the eastern part of Uzbekistan, has a density of 216.5 people per square kilometer, while Surkhandarya region, to the south, follows with 145.7. Jizzakh region shows a density of 72.1, and Bukhara reports 51.4 people per square kilometer.
