The minors were returned under the framework of an agreement concerning the repatriation of minors among CIS participating states. This initiative was facilitated by the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Moscow Directorate, which operates a temporary detention center for juvenile offenders.

According to the agency, a total of 100 Uzbek minors are expected to be repatriated in 2024 and placed under the care of their parents or close relatives.

In October alone, 11 children who had been left without parental supervision abroad were brought back to Uzbekistan. On October 15, three children were returned with the assistance of Ministry of Internal Affairs officials. One child came from Russia, while the other two were repatriated from China.

The agency is currently assessing the circumstances of these minors' families and their relatives in Uzbekistan, particularly focusing on those left in difficult living conditions.

Comprehensive social services, including psychological support, legal advice, and educational placement, will be provided based on the individual needs of the children.

It is noteworthy that since the beginning of October, 11 children have been returned to Uzbekistan after being deprived of parental care abroad.
