It should be noted that in the Taekwondo competition in the -68 kg weight category, Ulugbek Rashitov remained unbeaten in his second consecutive Olympics. The Uzbek athlete, who was the champion at the Tokyo Olympics, faced Jordanian Zaid Kareem in the final and won with a score of 2:0 (5:4, 3:1).
Additionally, the Uzbekistan delegation secured its first boxing medal at the Summer Olympic Games.
In the -51 kg weight category, Hasanboy Dusmatov stepped into the ring against France's Billal Bennama in the final, winning 5:0 and becoming a two-time Olympic champion.
This boxer had also been unbeatable at the Rio 2016 Olympics.
