"The goal of the renovation project is to update the housing stock, prevent the mass emergence of unsafe housing, and improve living conditions for citizens through comprehensive development of areas," the statement said.
Renovation will only be conducted on properties confirmed to be unsafe and only with the consent of residents.
"It should be noted that the lifespan of buildings constructed in Tashkent is estimated at 50 years, and in most cases, the possibility of major repairs has already expired. The buildings' operational lifespans are nearing their end," the administration emphasized.
The continued use of these buildings in their current state will inevitably lead to a significant increase in unsafe housing in the capital, according to the press service.
