According to the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade (MIIT), the meeting was also attended by the heads of large Japanese companies, including Mitsubishi Corporation, Sumitomo Corporation, Summit Motors, YKK, Toyota Tsusho Corporation, Internet Initiative Japan Inc., Mitsui & Co., Yokogawa Electric, HHH Central Asia, Kubota, Masui, as well as JETRO, JICA and the Uzbek-Japanese Center.
In his welcoming speech, Laziz Kudratov emphasized the dynamics of the development of Uzbek-Japanese cooperation.
The volume of trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Japan has increased 3-fold since the beginning of this year, investments in the economy of our country have increased 40-fold, and the number of joint ventures – 8-fold. Over the past seven years, projects worth 2.4 billion USD have been implemented with the participation of Japanese companies in the energy, tourism, chemical and furniture industries. Within the framework of the financial and technical partnership, a number of projects worth more than 7 billion USD have been implemented in the fields of healthcare, energy, digitalization, education, etc. Following the meeting, the parties approved a list of mutually beneficial project initiatives, for which preliminary agreements and contracts have been formed and contractors from both sides have been identified. Each initiative will receive comprehensive support both during construction and during subsequent operation.
