The Thai government has officially introduced a 60-day visa-free entry regime for citizens of 36 more countries, including Uzbekistan.

It is noted that previously, the number of countries whose citizens could enter Thailand without a visa was 57. Among the newly added 36 countries are China, India, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan.

The new regulation applies to visitors entering Thailand through all border posts. This regime was unilaterally introduced by the Thai government to boost the economy and may be canceled after a certain period.

According to the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs, negotiations are ongoing regarding the development of intergovernmental agreements on mutual visa exemption between Uzbekistan and Thailand.

Before July 15, Uzbek citizens could obtain a 15-day tourist visa upon arrival at the airport for a fee of $60.

It should be recalled that recently, Oman introduced a visa-free regime for citizens of Uzbekistan.
