New law mandates licensing for Umrah event organization, imposes heavy fines for violations

A law signed by the president introduced amendments and additions to certain legislative acts.

In particular, according to the amendments and additions to the Law "On Licensing, Permitting, and Notification Procedures," the activity of providing services for organizing and conducting Umrah events is designated as a separate type of licensed activity.

The Committee on Religious Affairs will be the authorized licensing body in this field.

Additionally, fines for legal entities for violations in obtaining a license for organizing and conducting Umrah events are set at 200 times the BCU (68 million UZS).

Moreover, according to amendments to the Law "On State Duty," the state duty paid for licensing the activity of organizing and conducting Umrah events by the Committee on Religious Affairs is set at 10 times the BCU (3.4 million UZS).

The law will come into force three months after its official publication.
