Uzbekistan and Malaysia to forge stronger ties following Kuala Lumpur summit

The event was organized as a practical implementation of the agreements reached between the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Anwar Ibrahim, during the high-level negotiations that took place on May 17 in Tashkent.

The session was co-chaired by the Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan, Laziz Kudratov, and the Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade of Malaysia, Tengku Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz.

The meeting reviewed prospects for mutual cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, tourism, information technologies, education, the implementation of halal standards, healthcare, and other priority areas of interest for both sides.

As a result of the discussions, a decision was made to create joint working groups on the relevant directions with the participation of experts from both sides, to develop and approve practical plans for mutual cooperation, as well as to monitor their implementation.

Following the session, the corresponding protocol of the Intergovernmental Commission was signed, and it was agreed to hold its second session in Uzbekistan, in the city of Khiva.
