Head of Akhangaran district becomes first deputy governor of Tashkent region

Erkin Mukhitdinov, who headed the district since August 2023, became the first deputy governor of Tashkent region for finance, economics and poverty reduction. This post was previously held by Abdurasul Abdullayev.

Erkin Mukhitdinov was born in 1976 in Andijan. He graduated from the Andijan State Institute of Economics and Management (1997), the Banking and Finance Academy (2000), and the Japanese Graduate School of the Institute of Developing Economies IDEAS-JETRO (2007). In 2017-2022, he worked as the First Deputy Minister of Employment and Labor Relations of Uzbekistan, in 2022-2023 – Deputy Minister of Employment and Poverty Reduction.

Doniyor Madirimov became the new governor of Akhangaran district, who since 2023 has worked as an assistant to the governor of Tashkent region on development of local industry.

He (born in 1979 in Tashkent) graduated from the National University of Uzbekistan (1999, master’s degree in 2001), and in 2019, completed a master’s degree at the Academy of Public Administration under the President. 

He began his career in the economics department in the Yakkasaray district administration (2001-2005), also worked as deputy governor of Shaykhantakhur district (2008-2010) and deputy head of the Delta Mikrokredit company.

Also, he headed the Department of Foreign Economic Relations, Investment and Trade of Tashkent region (2016-2017), the Department for Implementation of Investment Policy of the State Committee for Investments in Spheres of Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Geology and ICT (2017-2019). He worked as deputy governor of Syrdarya region – head of the department of investment and foreign trade (2019-2022), as well as head of the department at the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade (2022-2023).
