Minimum passing score for university admission to be raised

The minimum passing score of 56.7 for entering higher education institutions will be gradually increased from 2025. Minister Kungirotboy Sharipov announced this at the press conference held at the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovations on May 8.

Reportedly:

•  for healthcare, law, business and management directions – 94.5 points;
•  for other directions – 75.6 points.

In practice, it was 56.7 points for all directions.

“The state grant is allocated for students in the form of an educational grant and a social incentive grant. The social incentive grant will be maintained. It is issued for 4 years and cannot be withdrawn. This grant is a grant for young people who need it,” the minister said.

The state grant is allocated for students in the form of an educational grant and a social-stimulating grant.

In this:

•  educational grant – allocated to students for one academic year, and according to the results of enrollment in the 1st year (from the 2nd year), it is allocated to students who have scored the highest points in accordance with the rating indicators;
•  social-stimulating grant – awarded to students admitted on the basis of targeted admission and privilage for the entire study period;
•  the obligation to work for 3 years after graduation of students who studied on the basis of an educational grant is canceled.
