Media: Head of the PGO department has been dismissed

Shamsiddin Sokhibnazarov, the head of the PGO Department for Combating Economic Crimes, was dismissed. This was reported by the Kun.uz source.

On October 17, 2023, Shamsiddin Sokhibnazarov was appointed to the position of Head of the Department of Anti-Economic Crimes under the Prosecutor General’s Office based on the presidential decree. Before that, he headed the Tashkent city PGO Department.

So far, there is no clear information about the reasons for Sokhibnazarov’s dismissal, his future activities, and who will replace him.

Yesterday, Kun.uz’s Kunonline Telegram channel announced the dismissal of department head Shamsiddin Sohibnazarov and first deputy prosecutor of Tashkent city Anvar Ormonov. Khayot Shamsuddinov, the PGO press secretary, denied that Anvar Ormonov was fired, and said that he had no information about Shamsiddin Sokhibnazarov. At the moment, Shamsiddin Sokhibnazarov remains as the head of the PGO Department for Combating Economic Crimes in the “Leadership” section of the departmental website.

Senior adviser of justice Shamsiddin Sokhibnazarov was awarded the “Sodiq xizmatlari uchun” (“For loyal services”) medal before the 30th anniversary of the state’s independence in 2021.
