Uzbekistan improves its position in the world passport ranking

Uzbekistan ranked 70th out of 96 in the global Passport Index, compiled by Canadian consulting firm Arton Capital.

When compiling the index, the company evaluated passports based on how many countries their holders can visit either without a visa or by obtaining a visa upon arrival in a foreign country.

Citizens of Uzbekistan can visit 24 countries without a visa, 45 countries can get a visa on arrival, and four countries require an electronic entry permit. To visit 125 countries, you must obtain an entry visa in accordance with the generally established procedure.

Thus, in more than six months, the Uzbek passport has risen one position in the world ranking with an indicator of 73 countries.

The owners of the most powerful passport in the world were citizens of the UAE. They have a visa-free regime in 132 countries, and in another 48 they can get a visa on arrival. Syria is in last place – 9 countries offer visa-free travel to its citizens, and in another 31 countries a visa is issued upon arrival.

In the CIS region, Ukraine became the leader – 18th place with an indicator of 149 countries: 99 – in a visa-free regime, 50 – with a visa on arrival. Turkmenistan has the weakest passport in the commonwealth (79th place; index – 63).

According to the Henley Passport Index, for the third quarter of 2023, Uzbekistan ranked 78th. Citizens could visit 59 countries without a visa, or by obtaining one upon arrival.
