He has already arrived in Brussels to start work.
Prior to the appointment, Fozilov worked as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2021 to 2023. Before that – from 2018 to 2021 – he headed Uzbekistan’s diplomatic mission to Japan.
In this post, Gayrat Fozilov replaced Dilyor Khakimov, who worked in 2017–2023 as ambassador to Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg, head of the missions of Uzbekistan to the European Union and NATO with residence in Brussels.
