“From November 10 to November 21 this year, citizens, who did not have documents or violated the migration legislation, were asked to leave the territory of Kazakhstan,” social networks disseminated the news. As a result, there are various misunderstandings among Uzbeks working in Kazakhstan.
The press service of the Migration Agency informed that these reports are not true.
It is noted that according to the decision No. 1146 of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 31, 2022, citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan may stay for up to 30 days from the day of crossing the state border of the Republic of Kazakhstan. However, the total period of stay should not exceed 90 calendar days out of 180 calendar days, that is, a citizen cannot stay in Kazakhstan for more than 90 calendar days continuously.
“After the citizens of Uzbekistan, who go to Kazakhstan to work, conclude an employment contract with the employer within 30 days, the employer registers them in the People’s Service Center. There is a procedure for obtaining a work and residence permit for a period of up to 3 months or recruiting potential employers on the basis of a quota,” the report reads.
