Ozon begins selling goods in Uzbekistan, Spot writes with reference to the press service of the Russian marketplace.
A wide range of products in more than 20 categories - from books and clothing to food - is available to residents of Uzbekistan. According to Alexey Sapon, director of operations and development at Ozon in the CIS, the marketplace has over 100 million product items.
The order can be placed from any region and received at a partner delivery point or at an Uzpost branch. The company estimates the average delivery time for goods to be 12 days.
From 2024, the marketplace will begin developing its own logistics infrastructure, creating warehouses and delivery services. At the same time, the expansion of the network of points for receiving and issuing orders under the Ozon brand under the franchise will continue.
In addition, the company’s specialists, with the support of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, will provide training for local entrepreneurs. Ozon expects to participate in improving the regulation of e-commerce and the development of cross-border trade.
“We […] will continue to develop the infrastructure to offer them new opportunities for convenient online shopping. Our key priority in Uzbekistan will be to reduce the delivery time of goods to customers and provide the highest level of service,” said Sapon.
