The Russian marketplace Wildberries has significantly reduced the delivery time of Uzbek products to Russia. Sardor Kadirov, GR Director of Wildberries in Uzbekistan, announced this to Spot at the Verona Eurasian Economic Forum.

According to him, previously products from Uzbekistan went through many procedures to get to the site, which took a lot of time, so manufacturers did not want to do this.

“The marketplace actually takes away all this headache. Wildberries provides Uzbek producers with a unique situation where it can send cargo, and the cargo reaches Moscow within three days – in fact, 70 hours,” he said.

Kadirov shared that speeding up delivery was made possible thanks to the help of the Ministry of Digital Development, as well as partnerships with UzPost and Russian Post.

“We send goods by post to individuals. This reduces costs, that is, our costs, the costs of the supplier, but also reduces, most importantly, delivery time. Our average delivery time to Moscow was 5-10 days. Currently, we are moving towards the figure of three days,” the speaker shared.

GR manager of Wildberries reported that sales of Uzbek goods on the site increased by 84% year-on-year, to $311 million. At the same time, the fastest growing product category was household goods, which increased by 806%. Cosmetics and perfumes (an increase of 528%), health products (433%), toys (386%) and handicrafts (325%) occupy the next places.

“We guaranteed to the government that we would export products from Uzbekistan worth $1 billion. We grew up in a mahalla where people are responsible for their words,” Kadirov concluded.

At the moment, Wildberries investments in the republic amount to $412.5 million, due to which 22.5 thousand jobs were created. In 2024, the area of warehouse premises in Tashkent, Fergana and Namangan regions will increase to 350 thousand square meters, and the number of sellers on the site is up to 15 thousand.
