French president's official visit to Uzbekistan ended

French President Emmanuel Macron has completed his official visit to Uzbekistan. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev escorted the distinguished guest at Samarkand airport. The heads of state bid a cordial farewell.

A number of bilateral events took place within the framework of the two-day visit of Emmanuel Macron to the city of Samarkand.

On November 1, the heads of state had a cordial meeting at Registan Square, took a night walk around Samarkand, and visited the "Boqiy shahar" complex.

On November 2, high-level talks were held in a narrow and extended format, at the end of which the heads of state agreed to raise bilateral relations to the level of strategic partnership. A joint statement was adopted, and a number of intergovernmental and inter-agency documents were signed.

The heads of state participated in the opening of a joint business forum with the participation of representatives of leading French companies and banks.

In the afternoon, the presidents planted a tree together in the congress center in Samarkand, got acquainted with the cultural heritage exhibition of Uzbekistan. They participated in the opening of the branch of the French alliance in Samarkand.

The French delegation got acquainted with the historical and architectural masterpieces of Samarkand. The heads of state visited Mirzo Ulugbek observatory and museum. In the museum, the guests viewed objects, books, manuscripts, and the original quadrant instrument from the era of Mirzo Ulugbek.

The presidents also visited Amir Temur's mausoleum. The high-ranking guest was told about the life, military skills, and creative works of the great Master.

The heads of state also visited the Registan complex. The guests were told about the architectural traditions of our ancestors, the patterns and meanings of the pediments.

Then the presidents went to Shahi Zinda. The visitors got acquainted with the history of the gate of the complex and the mausoleums. It was said that the monuments of Samarkand left a great impression on the guests.
